SH Flame Opal + NYC liquid eyeliner review

Ya know, I love to make my husband pick out colors for me to wear. This time I made my younger brother choose and this is the one he picked out. This is one of my dollar tree finds and the one I have another bottle of to give away. I think this color is super pretty- a little fuschia, a little red and nice and shimmery. I wasn't too excited about it in the bottle but I loved it on my nails. It is a little sheer, there is some VNL. But like I've said before, with some colors I don't mind VNL.
Sally Hansen Flame Opal 3 coats- no cleanup.

Now for my review on NYC liquid eyeliner...
I picked up Ultra Violet and Electric Blue at Rite Aid for $3.99 each. I'm guessing this is a summer collection. I will state the last time I tried their eyeliner it was years ago and a disaster that scared me away from even glancing at anything other than polish in their displays.
Swatched on the back of my hand, the small left line is a single swipe and the larger is to get a better idea of the color. I must say I was really disappointed when I opened Ultra Violet- with it's violently bright purple tube- to find a much duller purple with shimmer liner. Oh well, not quite as vibrant but still pretty. But seriously, you can't see into the tube on these. Way to misrepresent a product. Electric Blue is as expected, bright royal blue and no shimmer in this one.

They are a little streaky, I have to go back over them to get them even but it isn't too bad. The applicator is one of those teeny little brushes. I personally prefer a fine felt tip but this is workable.

The wear? Surprising. I wore the blue without a base for 6 hours and there was no lid transfer, no smudging. I typically get some massive lid transferring in a couple hours with the best of liquid. With a base (Urban Decay Primer Potion) these can be worn all day.

And doing what I do best, ridiculous eye makeup heavily feature Electric Blue in a dramatic cat eye. Ultra Violet is always worn in the inner corner/lower lid but as you can tell it is much more subdued. You can also note that I am wearing the NYC blushable creme stick in Wild Berry in these, which I will be reviewing in my next post.

So I must say I am pleasantly surprised and would recommend these. I'm looking forward to wearing these colors in the summer and I hope they can stand up to the heat!

So tell me: what do you think of bright eyeliner colors? Would you wear them?
