Wonder Woman? FOTD

Thrown together quick for bed shopping. It wasn't intentional but the combo of blue and red remind me of Wonder Woman, probably because of the MAC collection coming out. I'll be skipping this one, but if I do pick up anything it will be Bright Fuchsia pigment just because I've been wanting it. I personally think the packaging is pretty tacky and could have been done better, I'm also disappointed in the collection in general. When I first heard about it I was hoping for an excellent new POW! in your face red shade but nope, they just re-released Russian Red and upped the price (for "packaging" I guess). Anyways, here is my quick FOTD...

I'll update this later with products used...Apollo is being too cuddly to get up right now and I can't remember the names of anything D: But the eyeliner is Wet n Wild and the lipstick is one of the Milani lip flash pencils. I do remember the blush is MAC My Highland Honey.

Milani Red Sparkle One Coat Glitter

Hello gorgeous! I don't usually like red polishes but this polish, red and glittering like Dorothy's red slippers has won my heart.

The formula on this One Coat Glitter is a little thick, so I had a little trouble applying (as seen around my cuticles). I was going to take more photos once the mess was gone but there was a small chip before that happened so oh well, why can't glitters ever wear well? I recommend 2 coats of top coat for this polish as it is a bit gritty but the results are worth it.

Milani Gold Glitz One Coat Glitter

On the hunt for another collection of Milani polishes...I feel like it never stops! But I MUST HAVE these Milani one coat glitters. MUST. I will be heartbroken if I don't. This is the single color I found in an otherwise empty display at CVS: Gold Glitz.

What sets this polish apart it's a mix of gold and coppery-red micro glitter. The one coat claim at least for this one wasn't quite accurate but these swatches are 2 coats and that's pretty impressive. And the fact that this is pure glittery goodness and it didn't peel off my nails within a day is pretty amazing.

I typically am not a big gold fan but this may be a gateway drug. Since I bought this color I have picked up at least 3 other gold glittery polishes...hmmm.

Yes, another silver smoky eye!

I know I literally just posted a smoky silver eye a few days ago but have another!
Here is the second half to my post from yesterday. I can never get enough of these kind of looks, and I wanted to play with a silver pop in the middle of the lid. I seem to be lacking a good clean bright silver, any recs?

Black to gold EOTD

EOTD? Okay not really, but I'm not sure what else to call it?

Sometimes when I'm bored I like to play with my makeup- experiment with different ways of shading, colors, contouring, shapes and all that good stuff. Typically I don't intend to leave the house with this makeup on and I usually end up doing two different things on each side of my face. Today's post is one of those, I'll post the other half tomorrow but today I offer you this:
I was curious to see what it would look like to use black only in the inner corner, I expected the results to be a little scary but I'm really not sure how I feel about it. What do you think?

Products Used:
MAC Painterly Paint Pot
Wet n Wild Brulee eyeshadow (highlight)
Milani Melange marbleized shadow (inner corner- swatches coming soon)
Fyrinnae Shrouded in Gold (middle lid- I think this may be DC?)
Fyrinnae Polar Bear- (outer corner)
Maybelline ultra liner waterproof
Lash blast mascara
Covergirl natureluxe liquid silk foundation in alabastar
Mary Kay mineral powder foundation in Ivory 1
NYC Mosaic bronzing powder in Heart of Gold
Sally Hansen Diamond 12 Hour lip treatment in Princess (sticky mess)

Silver smoky eye & nude lips using drug store produc

I realized it had been a while since I had worn a simple silver smoky eye. I recently have been trying more drug store products and the only thing in this entire FOTD that isn't drug store is my primer- MAC Painterly Paint Pot.

Products used:
MAC Painterly paint pot
Maybelline Cool Effects pencil in Black Frost *read below for thoughts*
Milani Runway eyes palette in Backstage Basics
L'Oreal waterproof liquid liner
Cover Girl Lash Blast mascara
Milani Brow Fix kit in light (my new love)
Almay tlc foundation in ivory 01
L'oreal Bare Naturale in Nude Beige (which in RL was ridiculous orange on me)
NYC Color Wheel mosaic face powder in Pink Cheek Glow
Revlon Nude Attitude lipstick
Milani clear gloss that I can't remember the name of

*I decided to give these another try despite harsh memories of greasy mess all over my lids from the first time I used on back when I was what? 16? I have to say I was happier with this than I thought I would be.

It doesn't have as harsh a tingling cooling effect as I remember and it managed to not crease after a couple of hours wear without a base when I tested it- so I was pretty impressed. I wore it as a base color to amplify my black shadow. When I got home 10 hours later from my errands and looked in the mirror it hadn't creased. It had however bled above the crease (and by bled I mean like when pencil liner does this and creates a weird arch over your crease, I've been trying to think of an easier way to explain this- do you gals know what I mean?) but it was easy to smudge with just light strokes of my fingertip to blend it. I'll fill you in as I test these more but I just wanted to put my thought on them down!

Sally Hansen Purple Gala vs Milani Dot Com

How pretty is this? Dark purple with gold glitter- delicious. This is 3 coats.

I thought it looked familiar (although somehow they never do in stores lol) and I realized it reminded me of Hard Candy Mr. Wrong and Milani Dot Com. After much looking I can't seem to spot my bottle of Mr. Wrong so for a comparison of those check out PerryPie! Here it is compared to Dot Com:
Yup, totally not dupes or even close. Dot Com does have gold shimmer but it is much more subtle than Purple Gala. The purple base is really close but Dot Com's stands out a little better.

Milani Lip Flash Swatches

When I walked into CVS and spotted this display I was so excited! On to the swatches first, then the review.

I have to say I'm not loving Star Flash but I'm totally loving Hot Flash, it has a great vinyl look to it. Really though, I think these are all gorgeous.

The application on them is okay, the only one I had trouble with was Star Flash which seemed to be very soft and the tip broke. But the rest of them had no trouble at all. I really like how shiny these all are without having to use gloss. They are a little hard to get clean around the edges, if you notice in the swatches. Which kind of ties into the big dislike and it's a biggie: the chunky pencil thing. I just have a great dislike for them. They are annoying to use and to sharpen and not convenient at all.

So what do you think, are you going to pick any of these up?

Milani Flash collection swatches

It seems like every time I walk into CVS there is a brand spanking new Milani collection out that I can't resist. I can't say they've disappointed me yet. Although, in collection I honestly can't keep them polishes straight...they are all red leaning and seem to play tricks on my eyes!

These have the same great finish Milani seems to use in all recent collections- what do you call it, I can't decide? It's a little like foil and a little like glass fleck and a tiny pinch like jelly...anyways, onto the swatches! You can zoom in on all of these but not sure you want to with my messy application ;)

Photo Flash-2 coats. Glimmering red with a just a dash of berry.

In a Flash- 2 coats. Hot pink that leans red.

Close up In A Flash

Hot Flash- 2 coats. Glimmering burgandy. A very pretty polish but it seems so common. NEXT!

Flash Light- 2 coats. Orange that leans red. Reminds me of Zoya Sienna if it was more red. My favorite of the 4.

Close up Flash Light

So did you pick any of them up? What do you think of them? I personally am not a big fan of red so wish they included maybe a bright yellow instead.

Maybelline Purplink + Milani Disco Lights

Excuse my messy nails, I did these by lamp light and was previously wearing China Glaze Polka Dot Bikini and it apparently was hidden around my cuticles during removal...not the first time I've had that problem with this color lol. Anyways, Purplink is an older Express Finish color and it needed 3 coats to be anywhere near streak-free and I couldn't be bothered with a 4th. It is a very very white pink, I was for once in the mood for a muted color and haha, I own so few!

Once applied I went to use one of my dozen bottles of Seche (I stocked up during a good sale) and of course the one time it really would show the brush had little bits of blue glitter left in it to scar my mani. Grr.
Purplink- 3 coats

So after that I decided to layer Disco Lights by Milani over it (I keep wanting to call this polish Doll House or Baby Doll for some reason- Disco Lights doesn't really fit it in my opinion). DL is a mauve pink glitter coat that I wouldn't even try wearing by itself. I thought it went pretty well with Purplink. It did need another coat of Seche but this wore perfect for 3 days! I was pretty impressed.
Maybelline Purplink- 3 coats + Milani Disco Lights- 1 coat + Seche Vite

So tell me, what is your favorite muted polishes? I'm looking to add some to my collection and I prefer them not to be sheer. Let me know if you have any suggestions, lovelies!
