Cover Girl Lip Perfection- MAC Toxic Tale's subdued cousin

I have two swatches for ya from the new Lip Perfection formula from Cover Girl. These are really soft and creamy, I recommend using a lip liner because as you can see in the swatches they are easy to mush around and bleed a little. I do prefer a little less slippery formula but this does feel very moisturizing- almost like a balm. Here are the two colors I've tried:

When I spotted Fairytale the first thing both the name and color reminded me of was MAC's Toxic Tale from Venomous Villains but I knew it wouldn't be as bright. I decided to compare anyways...

When swatched on my hand they were closer than I expected. Fairytale is a little more sheer, a shade lighter and a shade pinker.

So, if Toxic Tale was a little too strong for your tastes I highly recommend picking up Fairytale.

The one thing I'm really hating about these lipsticks? There is no damn product name anywhere on the tube. No, the color name IS on the bottom but what the line is? No where to be found. This bugs me to no end.

I found these at CVS, I've also seen them at Walmart and you can find them at Walgreens for around the same price, $7.49.

MAC Venomous Villians Toxic Tale + Violetta swatches

I'm a sucker for lipstick, we know this, but not often do I fall head over heels in love with a color. From the moment I laid eyes on swatches of Toxic Tale I knew I had to have it and I was not disappointed. The first swipe of Toxic Tale on my lips was all it took for me to ooh and aah. Toxic Tale is neon coral-red and not for the tame. Cream finish. The texture is very creamy on this one and the color payoff is fantastic.

For fun I did a comparison of Toxic Tale with a couple other MAC shades:

Vegas Volt leans more orange, Toxic Tale more Red and Impassioned more pink.

Violetta had been on my want list for awhile and I was ecstatic when I read it was coming out in this collection. It is a slightly pink dark purple with shimmer.
