Funky Fingers Gaga Glitter

What a weird name! I'm very impressed once again with Funky Fingers. This is another amazing 2 coater- a purple toned pink strewn with silver micro glitter. And this doesn't feel gritty at all, application was fabulous and I wore it for 3 days with barely any wear.

If you haven't tried Funky Fingers yet I recommend them! They are 3 for $5 at Five Below.

Sephora Color Slim Eye Palette Review

I recently placed an order with Sephora to use my $15 gift credit they give out and picked up this palette- it was only $6 so how could I pass it up? In my experience Sephora shadows aren't the best quality so I was a little wary about it. I've purchased the Sephora Blockbuster before only to be massively disappointed. I sat down the other night and played with all of the shadows to see how they worked. All of these were done over MAC Bare Study Paint Pot. I've labelled them 1-8 for easy reference.

Color descriptions:
1- light pink with red glitter
2-medium taupe brown shimmer
3-dark matte brown
4-dark olive green with silver glitter
5-light silver- white shimmer
6-gray stormy silver shimmer
7-black with silver glitter
8-purple with slight blue shimmer

And when I say silver glitter I mean big chunky no-point-for-it glitter. All it does is make the palette look cheap.

Look 1:
Using 2, 3 and 5 (highlight). This was the first look I did and was very happy with the pigmentation. The shadows I used here all had a great texture and pigmentation, no troubles here. I was very nicely surprised to find that the matte brown was not chalky at all and easy to blend! In fact I was very happy! But can the whole palette be this good for $6?

Look 2:
Using 1, 5 (highlight), 7 and 8. Ignore that crazy eyelash, I don't know what that is about. I knew this palette couldn't keep it up. 1 barely showed up at all even when applied heavily, invisible eyeshadow! 8 barely showed up too, I had to pound it on just to get the color you see on the lid. 7 was alright, nothing special and not the easiest black that I've worked with.

Look 3:
Using 4, 5 and 6. As a highlight 5 works alright but as a lid color it was a little too sheer, 5 was a nice silver but the pigment was so-so and it needed a little bit of work. 6 I was expecting to be darker, on the lid it turned a silver-green and also needed packed on.

Conclusions-
The palette was only $6 but I have palettes I've purchased for less from Wet N Wild and NYC that are much higher quality. The mirror in the palette is also weird- it seems to be warped or something so I find it unusable. I will likely only use 3 shades in this palette, which means I likely will never reach for it. I would say pass on this one.

Quick & Simple FOTD

For some last minute Christmas shopping with friends Christmas Eve :) I wanted something really quick but still festive so I pulled out my MAC Classic Cream liner- a pale creamy gold shimmer.

I also wanted to use MAC My Highland Honey blush that I had newly acquired. I picked it up on a trip to NYC the weekend before Christmas in the huge Macy's using a gift card that I got for my birthday. I might be cheesy but I'll always remember those things when I use it! I had such a hard time deciding what to get but once I spotted it I knew I had to have it. If you haven't seen it check out Temptalia's swatches- it's a weird gold almost yellow peach.

Products used:
MAC Painterly Paint Pot
Wet N Wild Brulee eyeshadow
Maybelline liquid liner
MAC Classic Cream liquid liner
Maybelline The Falsies mascara
Milani eye brow kit
Mary Kay mineral powder foundation in Light 01
MAC Highland Honey blush
anddd some random gloss I don't remember!

My Highland Honey -What do you think of it?

Essie Masquerade Belle

This was my Christmas manicure :) I planned on doing something more festive but never got around to it! Masquerade Belle is a pretty vampy color. I had a little bit of trouble with application- but I always do with Essie. The brush is so thin and tiny that I have trouble getting a smooth gap (and I've yet to find a clean up method I like). And these colors never capture well, it doesn't look pretty and shiny like in real life but instead looks dull and scratched.

This wore better than most Essie does for me- as in a day without chips.

I thought I had posted this but I guess not! I really don't remember what was used but I know that it involved Fyrinnae Polar Bear and Tapir and MAC Burnt Burgandy pigment!

Nail Fraud leopard nails and review

If you remember my recent Incoco review, these might look familiar. Nail Fraud is around the same idea, but instead of a standard nail color or glitter they have all kinds of fun designs such as these leopard print nails.

Here you can see the "nail bar" (at least that's what I call it). The package comes with 2 identical nail bars. Of course they might not fit exact to your nail but I didn't have much trouble with them fitting. I even have a full set of 10 which are too large for my nails I'm going to try to trim down the edges for a second full mani.

You apply them the same way as the Incoco- you pull the front and back off and it has a sticky backside (sounds like a personal problem- eh?) which you then press carefully onto your nail and then you stretch and buff the excess off the edge of your nail.

All finished!

Once you have the hang of it these are really simple to apply and they are adorable! You can put a top coat over to help protect them if you'd like- I did. The wear on these was great! I wore them for 5 days without any chipping or peeling before I went through nail-polish-withdrawal and took them off. I especially like products like these for use through the busy holidays- one less thing to worry about :)
Have you tried Nail Fraud?

You can find these at nailfraud.com and they retail for $12 a set.

LA Girl Rock Star Live on Stage

Overkill? I know, but I just picked up a few new rings and my love of oversized rings (all from Forever 21) and shiny gold things overcame my senses.

I was recently shopping around and found a display of LA Girl Rock Star polishes. I squeed in delight- every one of them was in some way unique or glittery. Safe to say I brought a fair few home and that night I put 3 coats of Live on Stage on my nails and fell in love with glitter all over again.

And then the next day when an entire finger of polish peeled straight off I remembered why me and glitter broke up.

Milani Gold Glitz One Coat Glitter

On the hunt for another collection of Milani polishes...I feel like it never stops! But I MUST HAVE these Milani one coat glitters. MUST. I will be heartbroken if I don't. This is the single color I found in an otherwise empty display at CVS: Gold Glitz.

What sets this polish apart it's a mix of gold and coppery-red micro glitter. The one coat claim at least for this one wasn't quite accurate but these swatches are 2 coats and that's pretty impressive. And the fact that this is pure glittery goodness and it didn't peel off my nails within a day is pretty amazing.

I typically am not a big gold fan but this may be a gateway drug. Since I bought this color I have picked up at least 3 other gold glittery polishes...hmmm.

I know I literally just posted a smoky silver eye a few days ago but have another!
