China Glaze Frostbite

A pretty common blue I think but I realized it was a color missing from my collection. Medium blue shimmer, needed 3 coats and there is still VNL but I don't mind it in this polish. I was actually surprised by how much I liked this!

Coming up next is a couple Pure Ice swatches :)

Hard Candy Mr. Wrong & Lava + Mold ball!

Previously I had overlooked the new Hard Candy line with a quick glance. Down on that bottom shelf they all look pretty common and like nothing special. However, when I decided to take another look I spotted these 2.

Lava is gorgeous. I hate red on me and I LOVE this color. It has that lit from within glimmer, red with gold glitter and it applied like magic. 2 coats or slick and perfect application. This is an instant favorite.

Close-up in natural light

As for Mr. Wrong, he was actually a little disappointing. In the bottle this is beautiful and overwhelming. On the nail it seems like there is a little TOO much going on for it to pull through. This is a dark purple leaning towards blue extremely shimmery base with what appears to be silver glitter and gold flakies. Sounds like shimmer heaven right? Eh, I think if the base was lighter or brighter this would work but it just kind of falls flat and isn't as eye-catching or over the top as I thought it would be. Once again though, 2 coats of perfect application.

All in all- the Hard Candy line is not bad at all. I remember a few years back having a Hard Candy polish and it was terrible in every way. I will surely be checking more of these out if only for the great application. They sell for $5 at Walmart and come with a cute little plastic heart right (like in the first picture :)

And here is the ball of mold I pulled out of the dog food bag...I said I would post it and here it is. Still no response, considering ways to get their attention. This is not acceptable, what if this isn't the only bag with something like this? I would make a youtube video but I simply do not have a webcam. Any ideas?

Sally Hansen Snappy Sorbet

Love this color, it is a nice creamy orange with slight silver shimmer. 2 coats, but I have to say for an insta-dry polish this didn't dry very well. I had it on for a couple hours before taking a nap and there were obvious lines left in it from my hair. I haven't had this issue with the insta-dry line though. Can't wait to wear this on my toes this summer!

An update on the whole thing on the mold-in-the-dog-food I wrote about last time...I called and left them a message yesterday and haven't heard back about that OR the email I wrote. I will post a picture of the ball of mold in my next post for you all to see as someone requested in the comments. Right now I'm off to catch up with Breaking Bad :)

China Glaze Dreamsicle- YUCK!

This polish is U-G-L-Y! I put it on and immediately removed it. The polish was just gross and thick and the color is too yellow for me. The glitter is just not an appealing one for me, I tried it topping CG Breakin' and it didn't do it for me either. 3 coats.

I have lots of NOTD but I just need to get them off my camera and cropped down. I've had a busy week. Tomorrow night (technically tonight) I'm going to see Coheed and Cambria and I can't wait! Debating whether to try and get my ankle signed to add on to my Coheed keywork tattoo:)

On another note, I found a huge ball of MOLD as big as a golf ball in my dog food bag. I am not happy. We were feeding her Nutrish by Rachel Ray and I wrote in when I found it 3 days ago and still have not heard from them. I will be calling tomorrow.

Orly Wild Wisteria + Sally Hansen Blue Blast Konad

I seem to have caught a nasty cold so just a quick update. Orly Wild Wisteria is a midnight purple cream from the Bloom collection. I honestly had no interest in the collection until I spotted this color in CVS. Application was amazing- one coat was nearly enough but I did two. None of the usual streaky mess of application you usually get with dark colors. I then stamped over it with Sally Hansen Blue Blast (so good for Konad!). No matter how hard I try I can never get the konad on straight. Oh well!

Zoya Kotori + giveaway planning

I loved loved loved the swatches of Kotori I saw before I ordered it...and don't get me wrong, it is pretty, but I thought I was going to hate this in the bottle! It was a huge disappointment in my unpackaging of my last Zoya order. Once on the nails though it totally redeems itself and looks gorgeous. Kotori is a dark kinda dull blue base full of brighter blue shimmer. Very pretty! It goes on a little sheer so it needs 3 coats, that first was so streaky I thought this color was a goner ;)
So, I am plotting a giveaway when I hit 100 followers (though I seem to be stuck at 74 for a while). I am planning on doing my favorite "must haves" that you may have missed. So, I'm wondering, what are your "must haves"/go to polishes?

Sally Hansen Sun Kissed

I made it about a week without painting my nails, only using the lightener. I can't stand it anymore :P I have to say, it says it should start to work in 14 days...that is a little bit long for me. I noticed absolutely no difference in color in those 7 days. Is it worth whitening them if no one gets to see them anyways? :P They are always covered by polish!

Anyways, this is a quick drug store find. One that made my husband say "oooh". It is a little more creamy in real life, think the powder that comes with Easy Mac and Cheese. I realized my collection was lacking a nice orange cream and this is perfect.

Please ignore the ragged cuticles- I have been spring cleaning a lot! And these are just a quick swatch so there was no clean up.

Milani 3D Holographic- Cyberspace and Hi-Res

I didn't think I would love these so much but I could not take my eyes off my nails, instant regret for not picking up the green one! Not much to say about these, they are just pretty and sparkley and wonderful! The pictures speak for themselves. This is 3 coats + Seche Vite. Wore well for the couple of days before I took it off.

Gargantuan Green Nightmare

I finally picked up a bottle of OPI Gargantuan Green Grape. I had it for awhile before trying to wear it and I was so disappointed. The application was horrendous. Runny, messy, thin and streaky. It leaked all over my cuticles and ever after 4 coats wasn't a nice even color. Safe to say I will not be using this one again. I hear a lot of good things about this color so maybe I got a dud bottle?

China Glaze Breakin' & nail whitener

Breakin' is from the Kicks collection, it is a creamy- medium orange with golden shimmer. This for some reason photographs really red toned but in real life it is much less red and lighter. Even tweeking the photos I can't seem to get it to come out right. Anyway, application was a little thin, which I'm noticing is an issue with most of the Kicks collection that I have (both Entourage and Laced Up had the same problem) and this is 3 coats.

And then I picked up Dreamsicle, which is a glitter polish, on clearance at Sally's and I threw a coat of it over Breakin' just to check it out.And here is a bonus photo of a new dress I ordered from eshakti.com. I recommend checking them out! They have really unique pieces and you have the option to customize any of them for $10. Not to mention they go from size 0-26W and send out fabulous coupons every month.
And finally, I have decided to give my nails a break. My nails are yellow. Y-E-L-L-O-W, yellow. Nasty. I picked up some nail whitener at Sally's and am going to attempt to use it. The bottle states results in 14 days, but it has to be applied to clean bare nails! So, in the meantime I will be posting some random old manicures that I have from before I started this blog. I will also be taking pictures of the progress on the whitener and at the end of the 2 weeks we will see if it has worked!

Gold glitter bonanza!- China Glaze Medallion and Claire's Chunky Gold

Medallion was one of those polishes I wanted and then would remove from my cart everytime...I finally found it on clearance at Sally's and picked it up and I'm so glad I did- this polish is gorgeous! I think the mix of holographic glitter makes this one special. Wear was pretty good for a glitter- 2 days without chips but it was all downhill from there. This was 3 coats, no base and a coat of Seche Vite to top it off.

I also picked up Claire's Chunky Gold in the clearance bin the same day I had picked up Chunky Purple and Blue. After using and hating the purple I was expecting disappointment with these but I like the gold WAY more than the purple. This is three coats, top coat of Seche Vite. Pictures are pre-cleanup. I have to say these are the biggest pain in the butt to remove though. Even the soaking method doesn't work on them.

Sinful Dream On

Dream On is a purple pink that dries semi-matte (which I personally hate). I guess you could call it a jelly? With 3 coats it still had major VNL and I wore this for a single night out and it had some major chipping (check out the pointer and thumb, other hand was worse) so this came off the next day. The color was fun despite it being sheer but not worth the bad wear.

Sally Hansen Black Diamond + Hello Kitty Fauxnad + Puppy!

Because I will never get enough of the Hello Kitty plate! Sally Hansen Black Diamond is a really pretty black with silver sparkles. Stamped with China Glaze Millennium and little crystals added to the thumb and ring finger (which lasted about 10 hours).

And meet my new pup, Apollo. She is a year old chihuahua/rat terrier mix and as sweet as can be. Now if she was only not afraid of the cat...

Zoya Paz

This is a neon orange. Think safety cones and go a little more neon. This is 3 coats, still visible nail line. I thought I would really enjoy this color when I bought it but it makes my hands look really red :/ Nothing notable about this color, chipped really quick for me so I ended up removing it the next night and I can't say I was upset about it.
