To celebrate Memorial Day I went to a barbecue with friends and decided to get a little bit glammed up. However, I didn't have much time to snap photos and decided to do it in the car. And then realized my dslr is too large to operate in my friends Jetta (I have an old van- plenty of room) so I couldn't get any good pictures so I apologize for the crap quality of these!

As for the lips...I really layered them and didn't pay attention to what I used. I used a red: tint, liner, balm, lipstick, hint o' gloss. I really wanted these to stay! I still would have been better off with plain ol' MAC Russian Red.

Enchantress, Divine, Hot Passion

I know I haven't done a full review on these but I find lipstick kind of hard to review but I do like the formula on these a lot.

You can find these at most drug stores for $7-8.

Would I recommend it? Yes

Like them? Would you wear any of them (I would love to see some ladies wearing Divine!)? Do you think Hot Passion is gorgeous like I do?

Thrown together quick for bed shopping. It wasn't intentional but the combo of blue and red remind me of Wonder Woman, probably because of the MAC collection coming out. I'll be skipping this one, but if I do pick up anything it will be Bright Fuchsia pigment just because I've been wanting it. I personally think the packaging is pretty tacky and could have been done better, I'm also disappointed in the collection in general. When I first heard about it I was hoping for an excellent new POW! in your face red shade but nope, they just re-released Russian Red and upped the price (for "packaging" I guess). Anyways, here is my quick FOTD...

Oh, my love of all things vintage. I squealed when I spotted the display for Fire & Ice, I knew exactly what it was and quickly snatched up my choices. I picked up the signature lipstick, Fire & Ice along with Siren along with its polish partner and Demure polish. There are 4 lipsticks with matching polish in the collection.

Before I begin on the swatches and babbling, when I told my mother about this collection she said my grandmother wore Siren as her "go-to" lipstick. My mother already says I'm exactly like my grandmother and now I can look even more like her.

Siren is a very orange- red and I feel it might be a little too yellow for my skintone. While it packs a punch it seems a little more sheer. Matching Siren nailpolish (2 coats) is the same orange- red and I love the matching nails and lips.

My one complaint about my purchases is one I have had before with Revlon polish- slow dry times. I recommend waiting for each coat to dry completely before applying another.

And while we're on the subject of Fire & Ice, last night I went trick-or-treating with the fam and instead of putting my Flapper costume back on I decided to go with a quicker "costume" and went pin-up(ish at least). And I used my Fire & Ice to complete the look!

I know these have been out for awhile but I never got around to picking them up. Here are 4 colors from L'Oreal's Star Secret Colour Riche collection. I am quite happy with all of these except perhaps Penelope's Red (which isn't even on the site anymore...) which had a more glossy feel leading to being a little slippery and also not wanting to stick to the inside of my bottom lip. I'm really enjoying the others though, especially Aishwarya's Beige.

However, if you've ever poked around my blog before you may notice sheer and subtle are not my style! My FOTN using Bite of An Apple (and Toxic Tale):

And because that wasn't dramatic enough, I added liquid liner, fake eyelashes and vamp lips:
For some reason fake eyelashes make me pose with my eyes half closed...

Violetta had been on my want list for awhile and I was ecstatic when I read it was coming out in this collection. It is a slightly pink dark purple with shimmer.

There were several other tempting lipsticks but I decided to purchase a couple other things instead.

In my post about finding the random Sally Hansen Natural Beauty lipstick, in the neighboring display I found a lone tube of NYC Special FX lipstick in Hot Tamale. I knew I had to take it home, in the tube you can see the crazy looking foil effect and I'm a sucker for lipstick so this one came home with me. Hot Tamale is a very warm, VERY frosty and foiled red.

I found the display for the Maybelline Mercedes- Benz Fashion Week Fall 2010 collection the other day and you know I couldn't resist adding a couple more colors to my collection.

I picked up both Berry Beautiful- a gorgeous juicy berry that is perfect for my personal palette for fall and Wined and Dined- a lovely deep warm red with a hint of brown. Both the colors are very glossy, which I love.

As with all the Colorsensational lipsticks I own these have a good texture and are non drying.

When I don't like a product I try to keep on the positive side and not be totally negative but sometimes there is just a product I can't think of a single nice thing to say about...

Okay, I should have seen this coming probably. This lipstick is horrible. I mean look at it. It's chunky, nubby, odd shaped and pretty flat. Now look below at the swatch of Stoplight Red to see what kind of application this gave me:
Yeah, not pretty! This lipstick is dry and hard to apply anyways but mix that in with the weird nubby shape and it gets even worse. Getting this around the corners of my lips was the impossible without making a mess and defining the cupid's bow was a joke. I consider myself pretty good at applying lipstick, I can even apply reds without looking in a mirror pretty damn well. But I have met my match, Mega Last...you evil SOB Mega Last.

And that's another thing. Mega Last my butt, this stuff doesn't wear any better than any other standard lipstick. Oh boy though, it does have that unpleasant dry feeling I associate with long-lasting lip color though.
Hmph, and I was just starting to trust you for things other than polish Wet N Wild...

Better late than never? These are from this years summer collection To The Beach. I tried but could not pass getting something from this collection, I thought the packaging was so cute. These are two unique shades, I'm not sure how to explain either of them! Thrills is kind of a bronze-pink and Funbathing is kind of a red-berry with gold shimmer.

Just a swatch for you from the recent MAC Fabulous Felines collection, I only picked up one lipstick. I expected to want more than this but nothing else really struck my fancy. Whether this is good or bad has yet to be decided.

How would you describe Drive Me Wild? It's a weird one, kind of brownish red with copper gold shimmer.

And here is Viva Glam Cyndi that I finally picked up, for some reason I didn't want it before but I finally decided to pick it up and I am so glad I did. I'm sure you've seen it before but beautiful semi-sheer coral can never get old.
