Essie Power Clutch + Shine of the Times= AWESOME

Click for base color and Shine of the Times porn!

Power clutch is a dark gray cream with a slight warm brown tone. I thought I would like it more but felt kinda "eh" about it when it was on. So I decided I would throw a coat of Shine of the Times over it.

When I first saw SOTT I didn't think I needed it, I barely ever layer and I already have Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure (which btw, they have another polish out now called Hidden Treasure, same line and everything and I would like to know what that is about) but OMG am I glad I picked this up. SOTT is a gorgeous flakie that flashes all kinds of gorgeous red-orange-gold-green goodness. With one coat my nails were LOADED with flakies. Prepare to see every polish I wear for the next 2 months topped with this! Literally, I'm making it a tag.

The combination of the brown tones in Power Clutch and the top coat make such an interesting combo, what do you think?

Sinful Mint Apple + pathetic attempt at stamping

How did I not own Mint Apple before? What the heck is a mint apple for that matter?
Anyways, this is 3 coats of Sinful Mint Apple stamped with Sally Hansen Forbidden Fudge. The stamp is from the first Bundle Monster sets. I just can't seem to get the hang on stamping, I always aim a little too far down my nail or end up warping the image. Practice makes perfect, right?

OPI Texas Collection- Part 2

Yesterday I posted the first half of this collection- the sorbets. Today I have the others, creams and shimmers. While I liked the sorbets a lot, this half of the collection is really full of stunners.

Don't Mess With OPI- *swooooooons* The first swipe of this on my nail and I knew I was in love. I mean, look at it. It's the perfect green cream, and a 2-coater to top it off.

Suzi Loves Cowboys- and I love this polish. This very well may be my favorite in this collection. I've been searching for a brown like this, it's like I dipped my tips in dark chocolate. And it's so shiny and once again 2 coats!!

San Tan-Tonio-This is a big disappointment for me. I really love the color in the bottle but it just does some funky things to my skin tone :( It's a unique color, would probably look good on someone a little warmer or tanner than me. 2 coats.

I Vont to Be A Lone Star- Love the name, my second favorite in the collection. This icy blue is so super shimmery cause its loaded with silver flecks. What a stunner! And yet another 2 coater.

Totally Fort-Worth It- This shade would work either as a layering polish or alone in my opinion, this is 4 coats. It's a hard to describe and capture color. Silver but kind of blue with pink shimmer. Very complicated but lovely!

Austin-tacious Turquoise- This is the only kind of shade I hate to see VNL on. How pretty is this though? I can't think of another word by PRETTY. It's so sparkly, I would almost say glass flecked and the color is fantastic. 3 coats. And I like it so much you get a second photo:

4 colors from China Glaze: Vintage Vixen

I know everyone has been swatching these, sorry! When they first announced the Vintage Vixen collection I was extremely excited. But once I checked out swatches my initial excitement died quite a bit. I only ended up picking up 4 colors from this collection (although I may pick up Riveter Rouge despite my hatred of reds). I feel like a lot of these colors I've already seen but the theme is what got me, I love it! Anyways, I ended up absolutely loving the ones I got, here are my swatches:

Swing Baby. A gorgeous taupe metallic. I feel like this leans rose gold a bit. This is highly reflective, my flash bounced beautifully off of this. A very unique metallic polish!

Classic Camel. Caramel yellow-beigey goodness. I can't think of another polish anything like this one. It has some lovely gold flecks mixed in. There are a few bald spots in my swatches but I think that was my impatient application. I had a horrible feeling this would wash me out but I don't think so, thoughts?

Jitterbug. Another unique metallic polish. Charcoal gray, loaded with silver glitter. Nothing much to say on this but once again, love it.

Ingrid. Alright, I totally absolutely freaking LOVE this polish. I didn't want to take it off when I was swatching. Warm comfy brown with loads of light gold shimmer. This is my ideal fall polish and I can't wait to put this back on my fingers!

So, did you pick up anything from Vintage Vixens?

Sally Hansen Commander In Chic

Before I get to the Commander can I just rant for a moment? I would like to know WHY the UPS man thinks it's okay to leave my packages- my NAIL MAIL at the wrong apartment. It can't be that complicated- the doors have these weird number things on them! My neighbor has even told them it's the wrong apartment- he just doesn't care. Let me mention that I don't live in a big tall apartment building but a building with a bunch of apartments one right next to another. We are the last apartment in our building and the packages are left on the FIRST apartment- not even close! It also is conveniently the apartment closest to where the park. I think he is lazy and if I ever catch him doing this he will have a well polished foot somewhere very uncomfortable...

*deep sigh* Anyways, Sally Hansen Commander in Chic is one of those mushroomy (mmm mushrooms) taupe brown and ever so slightly purple shades I love so much. This one was a little darker than the others I own. Application was good. This is one of the Complete(ly overpriced) manicure polishes and I'm getting used to the brush as I try more of these (wide but rounder than the Insta-Dri line). This was 3 coats- probably could have been 2 if I didn't swatch so darn quick. And it was a PIA this get pictures of for some reason.

Commander in Chic- 3 coats. Dark brooding mushroom goodness.

And here is a comparison of Commander in Chic vs China Glazes Channelesque

CIC, Channelesque, CIC, Channelesque

Channelesque, CIC, Channelesque, CIC

So yeah, not as close as I expected. Commander is quite a bit darker. I can see reason for having both so there ya go ;)

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Dusty Plums: SH Plum's the Word & ChG Channelesque

First off we have Sally Hansen Plum's the Word. This is one of the ridiculously overpriced Complete polishes and it looked so pretty sitting next to the dusty teal and gray...however on the nails it just didn't impress me. I think it is maybe a little too brown for my tastes. It applied well, this is 2 coats. Didn't help that the BM stamp is completely crooked and looks like crap...NEXT!
Now this is more like it: China Glaze Channelesque. My bottle came a little bit wonky and had spilled down the side :( Poor thing! I'm not really sure how to describe this color...kinda a taupe brown but also kinda purple? I asked several people and they couldn't decide either. It is pretty though, I quite like it! On my pointer I have my first try at using fimo sticks- a starfish. I can't wait to use these more (although they are hard to slice thin). This is 3 coats.

China Glaze: Heirloom Organza aka the ugliest polish I own

Seriously, the UGLIEST polish I own. I don't know what I was thinking when I even bought this because I HATE browns/neutrals/tans. It isn't even the color that ruins it (though I think it is hideous) but the formula doesn't help it. This is 4 coats. FOUR COATS. This is the worst 4 coater I have ever dealt with. It was uneven, streaky, still had VNL and covered completely different on each nail. And maybe it would look good as a sheer coat? Nope. As a one or two coat this goes one DISGUSTING. Streaky and yellowed, even worse than the 4, ugh. China Glaze, I am disappointed.
This polish is so ugly, here is an Apollo to clear your eyes.
