Black Shatter & Simply Smash-ing
Something I'm really excited about, OPI's new Black Shatter top coat. I've got it over 3 colors for you today, including the Serena Williams polish Simply Smash-ing.
I've been on the hunt, like I'm sure many others, for a crackle top coat for a long time. I recall having one when I was much younger from Maybelline or Cover Girl. I L-O-V-E-D crackle polish and was very disappointed to find that at least here in the US it was impossible to find.
I even ordered the crackle polish from Transdesign and really, I don't even know what that was but it wasn't polish. Sure, it crackled but it also peeled completely off the nail and what didn't was ridiculous to remove. I really don't feel like it was a safe product even- at least I didn't feel like it was safe.
Which brings me to OPI with Black Shatter! The one thing I am confused about is what collection this is part of, as it seems to be a duo with Simply Smash-ing. But then it says...
First I have to show you how it looks over Teenage Dream from the Katy Perry collection...

...With my cute cupcake lip gloss.
...with my cute duckie I got for christmas.
Did I mention I loved this shade? This was so hard to decide to remove and I didn't have a single chip after 4 days- and if I haven't mentioned before I'll repeat: for a glitter this is amazing.
And here is Simply Smash-ing, which I haven't shown you yet. I would call it chartreuse and I honestly don't have anything like this in my collection. This is 3 coats.

Sinful Colors Dumpling
I'm so glad I tracked down this polish after realizing how lovely Bamboo was. When I first put this polish on I was so shocked. In store it looks like a typical not at all exciting yellow. Oh man, I was blowwwwn away!

This is 3 coats, it's still not opaque but as long as it's even I don't mind. Yellows are kinda known for being PITAs for application but this had typical Sinful application which is pretty good. These however didn't wear like Sinful for me and neither did Bamboo. I'm not complaining, Sinful wore like crap on me! Maybe they've changed their formula?

OPI The "It" Color
OPI The "It Color" is a bright fun golden yellow. It reminds me of smiley faces :) In fact I'm wearing this right now and going to add some smiley faces before bed tonight. This applies easy for a yellow, although once again I need another coat than I thought I did (a reoccurring problem with OPI it seems).

China Glaze Solar Power
China Glaze Solar Power is an older shade but I love it, my absolute most favorite yellow. Beautiful lemon and sunshine yellow with a little bit of yellow-golden shimmer. 2 coats of great application and this baby is literally golden.

Maybelline Summer- Banana Bamba, Summer Splash & Orange Ole
I'm guessing these are from a summer collection this year but I can't seem to find any information on them online. I just know I found them recently in a new display at my local CVS and while the colors aren't anything new and exciting they were quite nice for Maybelline and a nice pop of color to the often bland drug store displays. Here are the three I picked up:
Summer Splash is a nice blue cream, I don't quite have anything this color in my collection. I want to say this might be close to Ogre The Top Blue from the Shrek OPI collection but I don't own it so I can't. My brush in this one was a little wonky- a few extra long bristles so the application was a little messy. And because I'm so impatient when swatching I got some bald spots but I think if this wasn't rushed it would be gorgeous. This was 2 coats, no top coat.

Banana Bamba is a light yellow with a little bit of shimmer to it (I thought this was a cream in store but I'm kind of happy it wasn't though). I thought this was going to be close to one of the many yellows I own but nope. Closest was Orly Spark but it was still no where near a dupe. For a yellow (not to mention a Maybelline polish) this had excellent application! 3 coats, no top coat.

Orange Ole is my favorite and a delicious perfect "primary" orange cream. Yes, I know orange isn't a primary but this is the perfect basic orange color. It reminds me of childrens toys and I really enjoyed wearing this. I really don't have a lot of orange in my collection and those that I do have I don't think I have a single orange cream. They always seem to be more gold or lighter orange so this is a welcome addition to my polish family. And check out my poor little thumb nail :( He is in rough shape! This was 3 coats and a coat of Seche.

I will also mention, I'm sorry for lack of updates! I had a bunch of photos ready to put up and then the laptop I typically use had some issues and reset on me while I was moving the folder and it went POOF and was no where to be found :( Since then we reformatted and it has been behaving better but now I'm behind!

ChG Lemon Fizz & Happy Go Lucky
I've had this for awhile and never bothered posting it. I kinda hate these nail decals. They are stick on and I just feel like they look...lumpy. Blah. We are currently going through a heatwave here in the northeast so I'm keeping this short since my computer room is about 90+ degrees right now!

SH Yellow Kitty + new hair rant
I have to take everything negative I said about this line back (well, except for the price- that is still horrible). This yellow was the best I've ever used. This is 2 coats of beautiful jelly like Yellow Kitty with the best application I've yet to have from a yellow (why are they always streaky?).

This color began at navy blue-black. N'Rage called it Purple Plum and the color swatch at Sally's was more purple than this color in the pictures and this is after washing my hair 16 times using every trick I know short of buying color oops. I did a test for a few minutes to see how it would take but when left on the full amount of time (I've never had it make a big difference other than how long it lasts) it was so dark. Seriously, from bleaching my hair to go pink it is so damaged I don't want to do color remover or bleach the color out.

China Glaze Pool Side Collection
I had planned on getting these swatches up a few days ago but like a moron I left my camera up at my in-laws. When I opened the box and saw these polishes it was instant love. I'm sure you have seen these a million times but the crazy neon of these will never wear off for me. I'm missing Kiwi Coolada but I'm thinking I've gotta have it now...
In all swatches my pointer and ring fingers have a coat of Seche Vite while the thumb, middle and pinkie are without a top coat.
Sun Worshiper. 4 coats. This one gave me the most trouble with applying of the bunch, it wanted to be streaky but the 4th coat fixed it although that is still a little much for me.
Towel Boy Toy. 3 coats. This is the least neon of the group and the only one with a slight shimmer.
Yellow Polka Dot. 3 coats. Holy highlighter yellow, this is blinding.
Flip Flop Fantasy. 3 coats. This is so gorgeous and I can't wait to wear this all summer. Such a perfect eye catching girly shade.
Pool Party. 2 coats. I seriously almost didn't order this one and omg I'm glad I did. This is my favorite from the collection. First off it is absolutely friggin stunning to die for pink. But secondly the application was the best in the collection.
I have to say, after reading other reviews I was ready to be disappointed in this collection despite my high hopes for it. I'm actually happier with these than I thought I would be, which is saying something considering how excited I am about neons. They all are jelly and will have a VNL unless applied over white and they do have a strange finish and need a top coat. Before a top coat they do appear a little streaky but once you apply the top coat it seems to be fine.

Pure Ice swatches x5- Don't You Wish, Oh Baby!, Purple Reign, Naughty Girl, Unzip Me
I've always overlooked Pure Ice until recently. I had previously tried one with horrible results and wrote the whole line off. I'm glad I finally gave them a shot.
The 2 glitters are both over black due to my ugly yellow nails. Mind the messy black- I got lazy!

Purple Reign- 3 coats This was rather disappointing. Purple with gold shimmer but I would have liked the gold to be a bigger *pop*.

Unzip Me- 3 coats. This is an instant favorite I would say. So shimmery and shiny! Maybe it is me but yellow always has application problems but this was great.

These all applied really nice and I can't wait to give more of these a try. But what the heck is with the names?
Anyone have any favorite Pure Ice polishes?

Claire's Yellow Brick Road
Just a quick post- I need to upload and crop photos and I'm lazy! This is Claire's Yellow Brick Road which was the biggest pain the butt to apply and I hated it so much on me that I removed it. I even added glitter to it in an attempt to like it better (Sally Hansen In the Spotlight). In the bottle this looked so pretty, yellow mustard yellow with silver flecks. Something about the application just made it horrible, thus the mess (which, please excuse, I wasn't going to clean this up if I was going to remove it).

I keep trying yellow but it never seems to work for me :(

China Glaze Light As Air + Lemon Fizz from Up & Away

I really like this manicure but totally wrecked it doing my friends nails before I got more pictures :P Oh well! 2 coats of Light As Air. I was shocked how well it applied, not streaky at all. I expected at least a 3-coater for this. Lemon fizz is only a coat, could have used an extra coat but what can I say, I'm lazy.
And if anyone is looking for another awesome nail blog to follow check out Perrypie's nail polish adventures!
