What's With the Cattitude? + Pearls and rhinestones!

I finally got my hands on some of these flat-backed pearls via eBay along with some rhinestone wheels. Here is my first manicure using them with OPI What's with the Cattitude? as a base. These were held on with nail glue, just sticking them in top coat never seems to work. I find they remove pretty easy this way and hold really well! This photo was taken after a massive cleaning/scrubbing session and I didn't lose any bling! I don't normally but I did photoshop this picture a little. While the gems held on I did break the corner of my middle finger pretty bad :( And something discolored my middle finger also, turned my polish yellow! I've never had that happen before, it must have been one of the cleaners I used (although I try to keep to natural cleaning products).

And guess who just took pictures for her next big ol' giveaway? ;)

Maybelline Summer- Banana Bamba, Summer Splash & Orange Ole

I'm guessing these are from a summer collection this year but I can't seem to find any information on them online. I just know I found them recently in a new display at my local CVS and while the colors aren't anything new and exciting they were quite nice for Maybelline and a nice pop of color to the often bland drug store displays. Here are the three I picked up:

Summer Splash is a nice blue cream, I don't quite have anything this color in my collection. I want to say this might be close to Ogre The Top Blue from the Shrek OPI collection but I don't own it so I can't. My brush in this one was a little wonky- a few extra long bristles so the application was a little messy. And because I'm so impatient when swatching I got some bald spots but I think if this wasn't rushed it would be gorgeous. This was 2 coats, no top coat.

Banana Bamba is a light yellow with a little bit of shimmer to it (I thought this was a cream in store but I'm kind of happy it wasn't though). I thought this was going to be close to one of the many yellows I own but nope. Closest was Orly Spark but it was still no where near a dupe. For a yellow (not to mention a Maybelline polish) this had excellent application! 3 coats, no top coat.

Orange Ole is my favorite and a delicious perfect "primary" orange cream. Yes, I know orange isn't a primary but this is the perfect basic orange color. It reminds me of childrens toys and I really enjoyed wearing this. I really don't have a lot of orange in my collection and those that I do have I don't think I have a single orange cream. They always seem to be more gold or lighter orange so this is a welcome addition to my polish family. And check out my poor little thumb nail :( He is in rough shape! This was 3 coats and a coat of Seche.
I will also mention, I'm sorry for lack of updates! I had a bunch of photos ready to put up and then the laptop I typically use had some issues and reset on me while I was moving the folder and it went POOF and was no where to be found :( Since then we reformatted and it has been behaving better but now I'm behind!

China Glaze Crystal Ball

This is a very unique polish: shimmery crimson red littered with holo glitter. This is the perfect holiday time polish- it's so festive! This was 2 coats and it applied great and the holo glitter was really fun...but these colors always fail to look great on me. I think they are just blah, while on others they look elegant and beautiful. Oh well, here is the gorgeous Crystal Ball...
Look at that split in my thumb nail :( It was on both sides and this was after it was patched. Yeah, I had to cut it down after these pictures but I couldn't care to cut them all so low so I just trimmed them a little. My poor poor thumb nail :(

Dusty Plums: SH Plum's the Word & ChG Channelesque

First off we have Sally Hansen Plum's the Word. This is one of the ridiculously overpriced Complete polishes and it looked so pretty sitting next to the dusty teal and gray...however on the nails it just didn't impress me. I think it is maybe a little too brown for my tastes. It applied well, this is 2 coats. Didn't help that the BM stamp is completely crooked and looks like crap...NEXT!
Now this is more like it: China Glaze Channelesque. My bottle came a little bit wonky and had spilled down the side :( Poor thing! I'm not really sure how to describe this color...kinda a taupe brown but also kinda purple? I asked several people and they couldn't decide either. It is pretty though, I quite like it! On my pointer I have my first try at using fimo sticks- a starfish. I can't wait to use these more (although they are hard to slice thin). This is 3 coats.

Essie Sag Harbor + Warm Smokey Evening look

I regretted not picking this up when it was originally out and I finally managed to swap for it! Yay! This is a little more gray than it would picture but just a lil bit. This is gorgeous stormy baby blue shimmer/frost. This is 3 coats. Since this is from the 2009 summer collection pictures from a day at the lake are appropriate I think :) Also, these are taken in fantastic beautiful sunlight for once! Go me ;)

Might as well use my waterproof camera I figure! Look at how gross the lake water looks- it's actually really really clear for a lake!
And here is a look I did to go out one night. I don't really wear warm neutrals very well, they wash me out pretty bad but I've been trying to find some that work for me and I think I have finally :)

Sorry there haven't been any posts the last few days. I've had a couple pretty horrible days and I'm not going to go into details but I will say I lost a lot of cropped down and ready to post photos and due to reformatting the laptop I have no editing program right now so nothing to show you.

I will also add that I lost half my income, which means I'm basically on a no-choices-no-buy. If anyone is interested I put a 15 bottle lot of HTF retired OPI on ebay.

I will say tonight I am working on getting all my giveaway items together and just might give you a sneak peek tomorrow :)

Hope all of you are well! To make up for no nails here is a picture of my G-l-a-m-o-r-o-u-s pup Apollo...

If you look close she has some polish on her nails still! That kinda counts, right?

Hard Candy Sweet Pea and some CG Flip Flop Fantasy fun!

Another great glitter from Hard Candy! I haven't tried anything other than their glitters from this line but I think I have to, these are all so great. If you haven't seen them: Lava, Mr. Wrong and Sweet P are all gorgeous glitters with the best application of their kind and if you like glitter you NEED them. Here is 3 coats of Sweet Pea:

And I've had these for awhile, some Flip Flop Fantasy fun...this is topped with Cover Girl City Lights, 2 coats:
Stamped with China Glaze Millennium- I loved this mani!-
Polka dot and disco balls go well together, don't ya think?

French + BM lips plate

I know I've seen this done a couple times before but I couldn't resist! I love kissy prints so much I even have a (extremely badly done and embarrassing) tattoo of one on my inner wrist. In real life these lips were more subtle, stamped with Candy Apple Red from Wet N . The French is Sally Hansen Insta- Dri Whirlwind White and Essie Sugar Daddy.

Milani 3D Glitzy Lipgloss swatches

While I sat at my computer and drooled over the new MAC Superglass collection I pondered why there was never a drug store answer for anything I really truly wanted. This time it was super shiny and uber sparkley lipgloss. So when I walked into my CVS and saw the tubes of Milani 3D Glitzy I was over-joyed. I typically like Milani glosses so I was in love with these the instance I picked them up.

To tell the truth I HATE MAC glosses because of that disgusting overly sticky texture. It clings to my lips and highlights every bit of dryness that is on them and just does not wear well for me. I'm glad I found these, I can't afford the $18 price tag of a MAC gloss at this point either. These are probably more similar to their Dazzleglass from what I have seen but I don't have any to compare it to.

The texture is good, not too runny and not too sticky. Just like I like my glosses. I have 5 of the 7 (and I wish I could find a tube of that blue Movie Star but I've checked everywhere) and here are my swatches:

Starshine is my favorite of them, I like my gloss pretty light in color (for reasons stated below) and this goes on nearly clear.

Love the gold glitter in Stylish!
This was the first one I found and it is my 2nd favorite, it is a warm version of Starshine.
I debated whether to get In Vogue and ended up deciding to...not sure I made the right decision. This embodies the reason I dislike colored gloss: bleeding. This just is messy from the moment it goes on and I can't image wearing it out because I would feel like a clown (and that is saying something;)

I will also mention that these pretties were out of stock forever at my CVS's, not sure how hard they are to find elsewhere. They retail for around $6.99 each.

Help me identify these OPI minis!

Ugh, why OPI, why?!?! Why can't you label your minis? I was given a big ol' bag of polish and these two were in it, no idea what name or from when these are from but it is seriously killin' my polish OCD since I got them to not know the names. These are each two coats. Come on ladies, give me your best guesses! And remember you can click these photos huge for details!

And just you wait for my next giveaway. It is going to be HUGE. Just waiting on a couple things and it will be up when they get here :)

Thanks for the help everyone! I managed to identify these as Don't Melbourne the Toast and Suzi Loves Sydney!

7 Rimmel lipstick swatches

While this is primarily a polish blog, one of my many loves is makeup and specifically lipstick. I own a huge basketfull of glosses and lipsticks and I've noticed most drug store brands don't get a lot of love. So, I'm going to give them some! It is hard looking at drug store lipstick and no knowing what the shade looks like, that sealed little devil of a tube you can't try on is frustrating. Here are my collection of lipsticks from Rimmel, one of my favorite drug store companies.

Rimmel Red Alert is a Moisture Renew Lipcolor. I don't truthfully find these to feel much different from the older formula but maybe that is just me. This is a classic true red. Please ignore my sloppy application, this was the last swatch and I was ready to be done with it! Hehe, but that aside...I like the color but it has been done many times before. In fact- NYC Retro Red is the same exact color and a slightly less glossy finish for 99 cents.
Pink Chic is another Moisture Renew and is one of those semi-sheer creams if you know what I mean. I always have trouble with these and leaving tell-tale lines in the top lip when I put my lips together. I will mention these swatches aren't blotted and that might help it out. Once again though, I feel like I already own colors exactly like this.
Coral Shimmer...I can't decide if I like this on me or not. What do you think? My lips are pretty pigmented which is a problem with sheer-er colors. I think this may be a little too warm for me but it's pretttty! I always try to pull off corals even though it rarely works out. I do love colors like this though because when I don't want to wear lipgloss this is just enough shimmer and color.
Pink Blush. Look familiar? Yeah. Pink Blush is just a single shade darker than Pink Chic. If it were a little bit more brown (just the teeniest bit) it would be a dupe for MAC Snob, even so it is very passable.
Crush is a weird color. I have a love of weird lipstick shades so from the back of the lipstick I was expecting it to be more orange. This is a weird brown-orange-tan. Kinda reminds me of the 90's. Either way, to frosty for my taste.
This is one of my favorite reds ever- this swatch doesn't do this dark red shimmery masterpiece justice. If you like red lipstick I would recommend picking this baby up.
Celeb is a pretty basic pink in my opinion, a little bit more berry toned and just kinda blah for me.

I also have a swatch of Dreamy from the new Moisture Renews somewhere that I have to dig up, don't know where it disappeared to!
