Fail manicure: halfmoon manicure

I don't know if it was the french tip decals not being round enough or my nails aren't shaped right but this does not please me. The base french color I put down for the halfmoon got peeled off by the french tip decals, this always happens and it is why I never use them! Does anyone else have this problem? I also did this right after removing the yellow polish from the last post and did a really crappy job, excuse all the yellow around the edges- I didn't realize it was there until I saw these pictures! Nail color is Zoya Casey- 3 coats and it is really vampy red! I love it.

Did you use a base coat?
I've not done a half-moon yet, because I don't have any french guides, but I always imagine painting my nail white (or whatever colour you want your moon) letting it dry, then putting the guides on to paint the darker colour.
(excuse me if I don't respond to a reply, I don't seem to get any response notification.)
I did use a base, still pulled it off. I tried this with gold under and freepainted black over and had better luck that way!
And I hate the reply system on here!
