I feel like I've been a neglecting the blog this week. I've been pretty busy and really stressed out.

I know I've said it before, but purple eyeshadow and me are not friends. I don't know why but I have never found a purple that didn't give me trouble. Either it won't show up on my lid or during blending buffs off and leaves bald patches. I've tried so many and with all different bases with nothing but frustration to show for it. Why purple? I *love* purple! Why must you break my heart

I don't know if you are just stupid or don't care, but you were ridiculously easy to track. Truthfully, I couldn't care less if you think I'm ugly, you don't like my nose or my hair color. Not everyone is going to like you, no matter who you are. I think most of us come to accept that and with it accept others for who they are. However, until we can be happy with ourselves that is hard- so really when people make comments about that kind of stuff you have to think there is more likely than not some hard self hate behind the computer screen. And really? Why would I care about some little girl in Canada's opinion? That's right, I don't! I don't get comments like that usually, the couple I have received are from the same person but months apart. Isn't that pathetic? And what is this blog about? Nails and makeup last time I checked, not if you like my face.

My hair isn't red anymore, thus calling me Ronald McDonald is no longer an insult which makes sense :) Also, I even commented that I looked like him when I first colored my hair red (I mean I'm as white as a clown anyways) so really, your big scary insult is rather weak. Thrown together quick for bed shopping. It wasn't intentional but the combo of blue and red remind me of Wonder Woman, probably because of the MAC collection coming out. I'll be skipping this one, but if I do pick up anything it will be Bright Fuchsia pigment just because I've been wanting it. I personally think the packaging is pretty tacky and could have been done better, I'm also disappointed in the collection in general. When I first heard about it I was hoping for an excellent new POW! in your face red shade but nope, they just re-released Russian Red and upped the price (for "packaging" I guess). Anyways, here is my quick FOTD...

Or as I'm going to call it: Orly Meet My New Lovah. I'm in love with this polish and I can't swoon over it enough. Rich green that leans ever so slightly blue loaded with glowing green flaky shimmer. In the bottle this is pretty, but I put off wearing it for awhile. I don't know why but for some reason I just never reach for a green polish. I usually absolutely love them on and with my skin tone but just always put me off for some reason. The application on this was phenomenal, this is 3 coats with no clean up and for me that is a miracle (I usually have at least one cuticle slathered in polish). I probably could have done 2 but I like to play it safe ;)

As the snow falls outside (and apparently the thunder and lightening here in NY) I am wishing more and more for warm weather. Could it just please stop snowing? Did I mention that the heat stopped working in my van? It's like driving around in a freezer.

Anyways, once the spring and summer comes around, more than ever I like to break out the bright colors. And what better way to wear them but paired with a bright and simple eye liner? After all, who wants to spend a beautiful day putting on makeup!

These are fun, colorful looks that will take you almost no time at all and with a handful of colors you can create a ton of combinations. Get creative! With the right match it can make both colors pop. And when the weather gets hot and your afraid of a makeup melt down, waterproof eyeliner, mascara and lipstick and you're good to go :)

Here are two variations with a punch of bright liner and lipstick. Simple but bold.

NYC liquid eyeliner in Cobalt Blue (I believe this is LE) paired with MAC M'orange lipstick:

Wet n Wild's 863 paired with Makeup Forever's 36 lipstick:

If you find these are too bright for your taste, try it with softer colors (or try blotting and see what you come up with, it can make a super crazy color much more wearable). Here is Wet n Wild 862 paired with MAC Snob:

Inspired by Chloe's Nails I decided to give scotch tape manis a try. I used to do french tips back in the day with mixed results but hers always come out so good I gave it another go!

I don't have any updates for you today, but I have an interesting tidbit to share. I check my blogger stats every couple of days. Apparently my top referral for the last few has come from Adult Friend Finder?!

I don't know why but this kind of bothers me, I can't even see why or where they are linking to so I think that has something to do with it.
