Claire's Mermaid

We all do it, buy a polish you know will be much too sheer and full of disappointment. Claire's Mermaid is one of those polishes. Seen below is 4 coats, but with the blue/green hue it is just a little bit too unflattering. In bottle this is gorgeous, turquoise that lean green with pink/purple iridescent- this is a good layering polish but as I've said many times before, I hate layering.

Orly Honeymoon in Style

From the Bridal Color collection, Honeymoon in Style is a sheer that would be best suited for a french manicure. What you see below? FOUR COATS! From the bottle I could tell this sucker was going to be sheer but not to this extent. I wish it wasn't because in the bottle it is such a gorgeous pinkish champagne loaded with absolutely gorgeous white shimmer flecks. While my nails are no where near as yellow as they were a few months ago, I still don't think I can get away with something this sheer. Application was fine otherwise, typical of Orly. I think I may have to try to layer this one, I think I just have to.

Eyeko Petite, Rain and Lilac polish

Some quick Eyeko polishes!

First we have Petite Polish which is too sheer for me to wear, my nails are stained from pink polish as you can tell and they are also rather yellowed. This is a very pretty sheer though and it applied nicely and isn't streaky. This was 3 coats.

Lilac Polish, while pretty isn't the most original color. It's a very true lilac shade but it's been so done recently that it isn't exactly special. 2 coats.

And Rain Polish, which I think is gorgeous! It reminds me a little of Essie's Sag Harbor that I longed for so long after. It's a dusky light blue with silver gray shimmer. Love! 2 coats.

Confetti Pink Paradise- OPI Bubble Bath dupe

I am totally loving Confetti. I've yet to try a bad polish and at $1.99 a bottle that is really saying something. I have some other Confetti swatches for you but only one today. I wanted to give this one its own post because it is either damned close or a total dupe for OPI Bubble Bath. Pink Paradise is a pretty pale sheer pink. I needed 3 coats to be satisfied with coverage. I think this would have gone on a little better if I wasn't so speedy when I swatch but it is pretty darn good on all fingers but the middle...

I think that BB could have used a 4th coat (especially on the pointer) but if you look in the first picture they are pretty darn close- especially on the middle and ring fingers. PP might be a slight smidgen whiter than BB. What do you think?

And here is a picture of Apollo wearing a giraffe hat. She sees wut u did thar.

OPI Bubble Bath+ Out To Sea tattoo lotion

I mentioned a couple weeks ago that I wanted to add some lighter colors and sheers to my collection. I shortly after saw swatches of OPI Bubble Bath and fell in love. I've mentioned before I'm not a big OPI fan and it takes quite a bit to get me to pick up one of their colors and this was worth it. It's the perfect sheer beige pink. In my swatch I'm wearing 4 coats, 3 is a little more sheer.
OPI Bubble Bath- 4 coats.

And here is something I picked up during my last tattoo visit and I'm in love with it: Out To Sea Tattoo Lotion. I absolutely hate using A&D cream on my tattoos- ugh so gross, smells funny and greasy! Out To Sea is unscented and gentle- since it is for use with tattoos and it's the perfect texture. I hate how most lotions are watery and literally feel like water when I rub them onto my skin. It's very moisturizing without being greasy, doesn't take forever to absorb and it doesn't wear off quickly like a lot of creams. I plan on order the larger pump bottle, they have a pretty good deal on the site. And look how cute the tube is!

And while on the subject of bubble bath. I recently picked up these Avon bubble baths in Caramel Truffle and Chocolate Cherry Cake and omg! They smell so yummy! Exactly like the desserts. I'm a big fan on Avon bubble bath, it works better for me than any other brand including Lush and it's way more affordable too. If you haven't already and love a good pampering bath- give it a try!
